Carmakers aren't alone in the creation of concept studies that offer consumers a peek into the future. TAG Heuer, well known for its automotive-inspired timepieces, introduced today a new concept chronograph at the BaselWorld show in Switzerland which is the world's largest annual showcase for the watch and jewellery trade. The Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph is inspired from the powerful GT cars that race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
We'll spare you the details, but aside from its...timeless design, one noticeable feature of TAG Heure's concept chronograph is that it has been designed to be able to withstand an impact of 24,000 G which is the equivalent of a 65-foot fall, compared with the industry standard of 2,000 - 5,000 G, or a three-foot fall.
